Von Anfang an wird kein Zweifel gelassen, denn hier wird Punkrock malocht. Der Titeltrack als Steilvorlage für das, was noch kommt. Gesanglich erinnert das an Tim Armstrong, musikalisch eine Reminiszenz an die Größen der Cali-Punkrockszene. Aimless Life macht keine Abstriche. Das ist kein angepasster Bubipunkrock, hier spielt die Rohheit die tragende Rolle. Steht den Jungs gut zu Gesicht. Der letzte Track auf Seite A ist The Last One Around, der sich nahtlos den ersten beiden Songs anschließt. Teenage Love Guns haben ihren Sound gefunden, ohne dabei in Eintönigkeit abzuschweifen. So, nun die Seite gedreht und weiter im Text. Denn auch die B-Seite sorgt für keine Überraschungen, was aber gar nicht schlimm ist. My Own Way ist ein Fist in The Air und Sing-A-Long – Song, der an die anfänglichen Pennywise erinnert. Zum Abschluss gibt es 1989 auf die Ohren. Wesentlich irischer im Abgang als der Rest der Songs, also das Bierglas in die Luft und Arm in Arm wird gesungen.
Die Debüt-EP lässt sich also sehen. Die fünf Songs wirken zu keinem Zeitpunkt überspielt oder langweilig, hier wurde ein gutes Maß gefunden.
